Left Behind|HDR , Travel Music Video

Hanle at an altitude of 14,000 ft, is an extremely remote part of Ladakh, Northern India and is in the middle of nowhere. It has the widest landscape in all of ladakh with beautiful grass fields and water streams clustered around the area. It is also a dark sky sanctuary with low light pollution to see clear stars and milky may galaxy through naked eyes. India has built the highest astronomical observatory in Hanle. This video is very special to me since I had envisioned visiting Hanle i in 2022 and It became a realty in July 2023 at the time of Nomadic Festival happing down there. Creatively video is about me and my friend Harsh going on a bike trip from leh to Hanle and capturing moments expressing freedom.

A road Trip, Music Video

A music video from the film which was my first attempt to cinema in 2021. An element of the story was taken out of my personal life and made into a rough, botched-up screenplay. The story was based on 3 friends going on a road trip and one of them is trying to move on from heartbreak. We shot the film with my 2 non-actor friends of mine from Delhi who I persuaded to go for a trip to Chitkul, the last village of India towards the border of China, for eight days and make a film about it. I explained them everything when we started the journey. We wrote the dialogues then and there. They were very interested in roaming around but they also had to act in the film and I was very excited to direct these mules. We shot about 80% of the film and I thought I would find the crux of the story while I was on my journey, but I failed. We couldn't stand to shoot in -20 degrees when we reached our final destination. We had to pack our bags and leave. I edited the first draft with whatever footage I had and I was convinced that it was garbage. The crux of the story was weak, so I decided not to pursue it. Then I realized there could be a music video expressing the mood of the film apart from it's loosely knitted script and a bad acting job by all three of us.

Moments, Manali

This is a mash up of a few random shots that I took while I visited Manali, a town in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. These kids were celebrating Holi, the festival of colors. Winters were coming to an end and flowers were beginning to blossom.

Moments, Madhya Pradesh

I am not a cinematographer but I have a camera, which makes me express whatever I want, so I travel to these beautiful locations and capture the things which I feel are worth showcasing. My affair with the beauty of nature took me to Madhya Pradesh without a plan. Here are the visuals of the place which I would never forget.

The Last Sunset, Mumbai

I am not an actor but I have feelings which makes me express whatever I want, so I was in a delighted mood during my visit to Mumbai and expressed it through a video portrait that a friend of mine shot, who has no idea about cinematography.

A Spec Brand film, Isopure

I was confined to my home just like everyone else in India since we have been in lockdown due to the second wave of Covid-19, and I came up with an idea to choose a product and make a spec brand film at home. Choosing a product was a task, since everyone in the community is obsessed with shooting coffee, it was the last thing on my mind that I wanted to choose, Meanwhile I was obsessed with a video on YouTube called Chris Hemsworth On a Quest for a Healthier, Happier Life, a beautifully shot brand film with a budget. Then I came up with a story that was inspired from the current times as all the gyms are shut for the people and some of us are working out from home. How Isopure is a fuel for the body and responsible for the intense workouts. I wrote a voice over which talks about the same and shot it.

I used my own camera which is Panasonic Lumix S5 with one single lens - Sigma 45mm F2.8 L mount. I asked my brother to shoot it for me who has no idea about cinematography. I asked him to give me few movements and maintain the focus, and he almost lost it to their DFD(depth from defocus) technology. I shot it  on Vlog 4k 10 Bit 420. I used no external video lights, all the lighting is either natural or home LEDS. The footage was edited and color graded using Da Vinci Resolve 17.

I wanted to use similar Audio/Visual treatment as the Chris Hemsworth video and create something at home with very few resources and achieve a certain percentage of production value.

Signature Bridge, with Panasonic S5

With a huge crush of mine on Yamuna river in Delhi India, I love to go and see it sometimes. There is a cable stayed bridge on it called the signature bridge which looks like one part of the entire worli sea link in Mumbai. It's a great spot to spend an evening gazing at the structure and the river. With passing of 35000 vehicles a day, the sound of traffic makes it look and sound busy. The lights on the bridge turn on after the sunsets making it a lovely thing to see. Its a personal project about a filmmaker showcasing a city by visiting its famous places and finding things to do while shooting it with a phone. The filmmaker acts as a travel guide and takes us on the journey to explore the most beautiful places in India and explains one unique aspect of the city.

Produced at a very minimal cost considering the most of the project being shot with a phone and a gimbal.
with a team of a cinematographer & editor we shot and edited a the project which not only has a framework of commercial filmmaking but has a formula of continuity.

The first episode of Jodhpur was shot in 4 days excluding the travel from Delhi. With an optimised use of Samsung Galaxy S7 egde we managed to get some great looking shots and the edit gives it an artistic approach which makes it very soothing to watch.
