Break Your Own Record

Break your own record was an idea which came to me from the small crossfit games played in gyms, and these games are based on competitive training, I wanted to approach this with a different angle, so I used the ideology of competetion within ourselves instead. In a nutshell this campaign is about how members at rawcrossfit gym breaks their own record and moves forward with their fitness goals. I started to discuss this further with the people at raw crossfit and we decided to add a little spice in the story by making a character who is a mother of a 5-year-old. We finalised the story and the screen play where The protagonist comes to the gym everyday to workout and writes her crossfit programme score on the gym chalkboard and she break her own record erases it in few days and makes a  new record with the help of her trainer. Creatively, the visuals are supported with a very powerful voice over which connects the character's life, and the gym. It also states that the times have changed and people too so raw crossfit is for the new generation. The treatment was designed to be poetic, impactful and the video had to look like a TV commercial. I wanted to shoot this on raw, so we went ahead and shot it in B-Raw with Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera 6k Pro with compact prime 2 lenses. The lighting we did was also pre-designed, There was enough drama in the gym's own lights already however we produced our own shadows using cardboard cut outs which took a lot of time compositing the shots. The visuals were supposed to look like it's a storyline of 7 days hence we had to finalize 5 different looks in clothes, and we changed lighting in the sets which were used twice as to depict different times of the day but with everyone's passion and effort we were able to make a video which raw crossfit loved.
